Our Heartfelt Thanks to Our Supporters

Anderton Therapeutic Gardens Society is very grateful to our generous supporters and donors who have supported the operation of The Gardens on Anderton over the years. ATGS is entirely funded by donations, membership, the work of our volunteers, and our own fundraising efforts. We wish to thank these organizations for their generosity.

Anderton Nursery

Without the Anderton Nursery, The Gardens literally could not exist, because Anderton Nursery provides the land on which The Gardens is situated. We are so grateful to the Nursery for all the support they have provided year after year, since The Gardens inception in 1999.

Comox Valley Community Foundation

January 2014 – The Comox Valley Community Foundation gave ATGS a grant in the amount of $3,790 that will enable us to replace the current pathway to the wheelchair-accessible toilet.

Replacing this pathway is our Number One priority for 2014, because the current path is terribly difficult to move on. It was a real challenge last year for volunteers and visitors in wheelchairs and with walkers, so it’s a tremendous relief to know we can fix the problem.

August 2014 – We are so thankful to the Government of Canada for providing a grant through Canada’s Economic Action Plan – Enabling Accessibility Fund to expand our wheelchair accessible pathways to several previously inaccessible areas in the garden.

The grant covered over half the total cost of the project, which was over $24,000. MP, John Duncan opened the new pathways at an official ribbon cutting ceremony at The Gardens on August 29, 2014. The impact of the grant will be felt by so many people for years to come.
